Writing has always been my passion, from a kid filling up spiral-bound notebooks to a college student enrolling in every creative writing, journalism, and literature class I could find. I’m now an editor and art director for one of Maine’s largest newspapers, and currently filling my creative writing bucket by working on my second novel.

Below the Ice (Flash Fiction)

Honorable Mention Winner in the 2022 Maine Crime Wave’s flash fiction competition (and the reason no one invites me ice fishing anymore)

A Dent in the Ether (Novel)

Below is an excerpt from my first novel, a classic ghost story with a Gothic vibe. When Kate buys an old farmhouse rumored to be haunted, she’s not too worried. What some find frightening, she understands to be that little piece of you, a dent in the ether, remaining in a place long after you’re gone.

I’m currently ironing out the wrinkles in my new novel, a story loosely based on Daphne Du Maurier’s “Rebecca,” but with a modern twist and more nefarious motives. When Emily meets the rich, handsome widower William Fairfax, it’s not by chance. It’s all part of Emily’s long con to get into his massive seaside estate where her sister was last spotted alive. As Emily attempts to retrace her sister’s final footsteps to uncover the truth, she discovers she’s not the only one with sociopathic tendencies — and everyone has a motive.
